Q1 How do I register to do business?

Use our placing business guide to get you started.


Q2 My FSA number and postcode are not recognised on the user registration screen, what should I do?

A.

The FSA number and postcode must match the details we have for your business. To confirm these details, contact intermediary sales support on 0845 6080038

If your company has not yet registered, use our online registration form.


Q3 Which FSA number should I use when I register for an individual user ID?

A.

Use the FSA Number of your company and your office address


Q4 What do the different roles on the registration page mean?

A.

A supervisor has responsibility for maintaining records on behalf of the company and can:

  • Submit amendments to their own personal details and change their password
  • Search and view users within the company
  • Authorise access for consultants and administrators within the company
  • Amend a user permissions

A supervisor consultant can perform all the actions associated with a supervisor and:

  • Submit mortgage business
  • Track cases online
  • Appoint administrators*

A consultant can:

  • Submit amendments to their personal details and change their password
  • Submit mortgage business
  • Track cases online
  • Appoint administrators*

* Permissions should be set to create/amend/view or track cases online

An administrator can:

  • Submit amendments to their personal details and change their password
  • Create/update applications online on behalf of a consultant*
  • Track cases online on behalf of a consultant*
  • Access/print documents online

* If permission has been set to allow this


Q5 How can I monitor the progress of cases I've submitted?

A.

New Intermediaries online

  1. Log in
  2. Click on the 'Mortgage Applications' tab.
  3. Search for your customer record using the filters provided

Old intermediaries online

  1. Log in
  2. Click on the 'Mortgages Tools & Documents' tab, and then select the option for case tracking
  3. Search for your customer record using the filters provided

Q6 How do I place business? Do I need a the online CD to access intermediaries online for mortgagage applications?

A.

Mortgage applications -

  1. Log in to www.halifax-intermediariesonline.co.uk
  2. Click on the 'Mortgage Applications' tab
  3. Select Create Full Application
  4. Complete the relevant screens and submit
  5. Further information held on the Quick Start Guide on the website

Further lending, product transfers and insurance

  1. Ensure B2B Intermediary Software is installed on PC
  2. Double click on the Intermediary Mortgages icon
  3. Select Further Advance/Product Transfer KFI
  4. Enter Roll number and sign in, this will generate a customer summary
  5. Select either New Further Advance KFI or New Product Transfer KFI
  6. Complete the relevant screens and submit

Q7 Will the online CD work on my computer?

The online CD works with Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.


Q8 Will the online CD work on a network?

A.

Q9 Will the online CD work on Apple Mac?

A.

No.


Q10 Can I download the online CD from the website?

A.

No, only upgrades are downloadable, the software must be installed using the online CD.


Q11 How do I know if I have the latest version of the online CD installed on my computer?

A.

Click on 'Help' and 'About' in the application window, this will display the version installed.


Q12 Do I have to upgrade to the latest version every time a new version is released?

A.

Not necessarily, though it's best to use the latest version to benefit from the latest system enhancements. Some upgrades are mandatory and you'll be informed when this is the case.


Q13 How do I upgrade to the latest version?

A.

  1. Visit www.halifax-intermediariesonline.co.uk and log in
  2. Click on the online mortgages tab and select the option for software upgrades
  3. Ensure that you have closed the intermediary mortgage application
  4. Click on the 'Latest release' hyperlink
  5. If you receive a secure connection security alert, click the 'Yes' button to continue.
  6. Select 'Open this file from its current location' and then select the 'OK' button

To install and upgrade intermediaries online, you must have sufficient IT privileges. If you can't install due to IT restrictions, please contact your IT administrator.


Q14 I'm experiencing problems installing intermediaries online on my computer, what should I do?

Speak to your IT administrator or call the intermediaries online Helpdesk for assistance on 0845 608 0038.
